Ingersoll-Rand has diversified from its origins in the mining and construction industry to areas as diverse as temperature control, golf carts and security products.

Ingersoll-Rand’s operations in Ireland originally centered on its acquisition of Thermo King in 1997. In 2002, IR’s presence in Ireland grew when it opened its international trading company in Swords, Co. Dublin.

Thermo King. The Galway plant employs 550 people and has a turnover in excess of €200 million. Recent innovations within the production process have resulted in the addition of higher value-added functions. Galway has operational responsibility for the other European plants and is the centre for ancillary services including Thermo King’s technical centre and a shared services operation.

Ingersoll-Rand International (IRI) This vehicle for global export sales and service activities was established as the corporation’s vehicle for global export sales and service activities. It manages a variety of commercial and service activities including Inventory, Sales Orders, Warranty Administration and Credit as well as Shared Services (financial, employee and technological services) on a single system with common solutions.
